The Band and part of the 2nd Battalion on parade at the Hulme Cavalry Barracks.  These men are believed to be a reinforcement draft for the 1st Battalion, which was fighting in South Africa at the time.  Some will be Regular soldiers, and others Reservists; civilians called back into the Army from civilian life.
